The flag gets a new Eagle
In March 1861, the War Minister had decided to replace the new Eagles (Bronze, Model 1852, or electroplating model 1854) by Eagles aluminum model adopted by the Emperor last year. Before the new Eagles for both foreign regiments were delivered to them, they were deleted. As a result, the eagle was ready to be shipped abroad to 1 and was amended: the back of the box, which bore the designation of the body, became the new face, the old, whose regimental number was removed, became the setback without registration (6).
As does the flag of the Regiment Etranger when leaving for Mexico at the beginning of the year 1863. The Eagle is the only real description of the body fabric, tie and skirt are those of the former 2nd Regiment Etranger, as were trees in 1857 to 1862. Except for the inclusion of "Cameron", which I'll talk emblem received no change to its payment to the Division Artillery of Oran, in October 1870 when it was destroyed a few months later.
On March 28, 1863 landed in Mexico Jeanningros Colonel, commanding the Regiment Etranger, with two battalions. The flag was present. A month later, the regiment was to distinguish himself by a feat of arms of the most glorious which earned its unusual for the flag to register on site the name of this brilliant action: the battle of Cameron, April 30, 1863.
